Idiopathic Anaphylaxis (IA) - Sufferers experience repeated Anaphylaxis but no underlying cause can be identified.

Idiopathic anaphylaxis is diagnosed when no specific trigger can be identified after an appropriate evaluation, and when conditions such as mastocytosis  have been ruled out.

Patients with idiopathic anaphylaxis have elevated levels of mast cell mediators, including plasma and urinary histamine  and serum or plasma total tryptase , during an acute episode. Patients with mastocytosis have continued elevation of serum total tryptase after resolution of an acute episode.
