The UK Mastocytosis Support Group has three main aims:

1.         To offer support

Emotional support for:

• Sufferers of Mastocytosis, and other Mast Cell related conditions

• The families of sufferers.

Intellectual support for:

• Medical Practitioners who may be unaware of current diagnostic and treatment options

2.         To encourage understanding

 Understanding:

• Correct treatment options and the safe use of medications

• The dangers of inappropriate medication

• Causes of Mastocytosis related anaphylactic reactions

3.         To inform

To provide information to:

• Sufferers and Carers

• Medical professionals

• Family and friends, particularly for the young, their teachers and school friends

The group also aims to promote general awareness by targeting specific healthcare professionals and providing them with information on Mastocytosis and related conditions. 

Our aim is to raise funds, both from within the group, and by appealing for donations from others, to enable us to finance regular support group meetings at which academic and medical professionals would be invited to address the group. 

Ultimately we aim to become a registered charity.
